The Selection & Deposit Process.
The selection of your puppy is the single most emotional and exciting stage of your puppy hopes and desires; the moment when your imaginings become a thrilling reality, and you can at last picture yourselves at home as you begin your new life together!
As the seller, Staghorn Dogs reserves sole right of first selection from the litter.
The selection process will only take place after a deposit has been paid by the buyer to Staghorn Dogs. All deposits are final and non-refundable the only exception being, is if prior to collection your selected puppy were to die or has been certified by a veterinarian as medically unfit to be re-homed as a pet. In the case of either your selected puppy dying prior to collection, or having been certified by a veterinarian as medically unfit to be re-homed as a pet, the deposit may either be assigned to the selection of another puppy from the same litter if one is available, or from a future available litter or be refunded.
Puppy price will be in CAD $ plus GST and will be determined once a pregnancy has been confirmed. Deposits are accepted via e-transfer or cash unless otherwise agreed upon between Staghorn Dogs and the buyer. The remaining balance must be received between Monday to Friday at least 24 hours prior to the buyer taking possession of the puppy, the puppy’s health records and identity details. A deposit amount of $700.00 CAD will reserve your puppy. The deposit amount is not payable until the puppies are born, the amount of which will be deducted from the final invoice after GST. Selection of puppies is determined by the order in which a deposit is received, and by which puppies are available at the time a deposit is received. Puppies will be selected by their buyers on a date as agreed upon between the buyer and Staghorn Dogs.
We ask that all the decision makers involved are certain and ready to embark on the deposit and selection process of a puppy. Please note that our puppies are sold as companion dogs and not as breeding dogs, and that any discussion surrounding the purchase of a puppy for breeding purposes, must be made prior to the acceptance of a deposit. Staghorn Dogs retains the right to cancel a puppy selection process and retain the deposit, should the buyer have been found to have not disclosed this intention prior to payment of a deposit.
It is at the discretion of Staghorn Dogs to reserve the right to cancel a puppy selection process and return a deposit at any point during the selection process, for any reason stated or unstated as determined by Staghorn Dogs. The buyer will be notified accordingly.
All puppies are sold with a full health certificate, are de-wormed at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks of age, will be fully vaccinated and certified accordingly, and will be microchipped and registered by a veterinarian selected by Staghorn Dogs. Your puppy will go home with a gift bag/care package including a blanket containing their mother’s scent, treats & toys and enough of the dry food they have been fed with for approximately 2 weeks; if the buyer chooses to feed the puppy an alternative dry food, transitional quantity measures must be adhered to (otherwise puppy will experience gut and diarrhea problems.) Staghorn Dogs does not accept responsibility for any gut & diarrhea issues caused by food transitional choices made by the buyer. Canned pumpkin is a great help as an additive when making a food transition – just follow the instructions on the can as to amounts per daily food allowance!
